Krauter & Company announces the opening of Chicago office

NEW YORK, November 15, 2013 – Krauter & Company continues to expand its operations and announced the opening of a Chicago office. The company has recruited three top industry professionals who will serve as key members of the Chicago team; Jeffrey Rubocki, Charles Blackmon and Marlén Hurtado. In joining the Krauter team family, these highly regarded industry veterans have enabled the company to maintain its tradition of hiring only “A” players with a minimum of 15 years expertise. The new office is located on 30 S. Wacker Street.

 Jeffrey Rubocki, Senior Managing Director

Jeff joined Krauter & Company in November 2013 as a Senior Managing Director of the company’s Executive Liability Practice out of Chicago. His primary objective is to work closely with our clients to assist them with their placement of a variety of Executive Liability products, including but not limited to, Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, General Partnership Liability, Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, Representations & Warranties, Tax Liability and Contingent Liability.  Jeff has extensive experience in manuscripting language of insurance policies to address the specific needs of each of his clients and also working with his clients on complex claim matters. Prior to joining Krauter & Company, Jeff was Senior Vice President, at Equity Risk Partners and was in charge of their FinTran unit (Executive Liability Department) for over six years. Before working for Equity Risk Partners, Jeff held the position of Senior Vice President in Marsh’s FINPRO unit and was there for over eight years. Prior to Marsh he was an underwriter for Chubb in their Executive Liability department and CNA in their HealthPro department. Jeff began his career as a Trading Assistant in the Euro-Dollar trading option pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before transitioning to insurance. Jeff holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He also competed on Penn’s swim team for four years.

Charles Blackmon, Senior Vice President

Charles joined Krauter & Company in November 2013 as a Senior Vice President in the Company’s FinPro Practice in our Chicago. Charles has spent more than a dozen years developing Executive Liability insurance programs for private and public companies. His primary objective at Krauter is to work closely with clients to actively manage and reduce their cost of risk through carrier oversight and development of best-in-class program design. Prior to joining Krauter & Company, Charles was a Senior Principal at Equity Risk Partners. He spent three and a half years in their Executive Liability practice. In that role, Charles delivered market-leading solutions to Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies. Charles specialized in client service, market negotiation, due diligence consulting, and claims advocacy. Before working at ERP, Charles led a team of eight, and held the position of Vice President and South Zone Team Leader at Marsh & McLennan for private and non-profit clients. Charles began his career as an underwriter at Chubb in Chicago.  He holds a B.A. in Political Science, from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.

Marlén Hurtado, Senior Vice President

Marlén joined Krauter & Company in November 2013 as Senior Vice President of the company’s FinPro Practice out of our Chicago office. Marlén has more than 12 years of experience developing Executive Liability insurance coverage programs for private and public companies. Her primary objective at Krauter is to work closely with clients to actively manage and reduce their cost of risk through carrier oversight and development of best-in-class program design. Prior to joining Krauter & Company, Marlén was a Senior Principal within Equity Risk Partner’s Executive Liability division for six years. Her role at Equity Risk Partners focused on partnering with leading global alternative asset managers to make sure their portfolio companies were adequately insured while specializing in client service, marketing, due diligence consulting and claims advocacy. Before working for ERP, Marlén held the position of Assistant Vice President at Marsh & McLennan. As an Assistant Vice President at Marsh, Marlén focused on servicing Private and Not for Profit clients in the Northeastern US by providing advisory and consulting services through effective marketing and analysis. During her five years at Marsh, Marlén secured appropriate insurance coverage and maximized efficiencies in her role as a Management Liability Broker by maintaining her focus on the following insurance lines of coverage: D&O, E&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime and Kidnap and Ransom. In 2001, Marlén began her career in the industry as an underwriter at Chubb’s Department of Financial Institutions. Marlén holds a B.S. in Finance, with a concentration in Accounting, from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.
