NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 17, 2015 – We are happy to announce that Steve Barge-Siever, Esq., Senior Vice President at Krauter & Company, has recently been nominated to serve on the Insurance Law Committee at the New York City Bar Association. The committee meets monthly and consists of approximately 30 regulatory, transactional, and litigation attorneys as well as several attorney brokers and underwriters. Steve has been a member of the NYC Bar since 2009 and joined the New York City Bar Association at that time. Steve will serve a three-year term on the committee.
The Insurance Law Committee covers all aspects of law, regulation and public policy affecting insurance activity and the insurance sector, both locally and globally. The Insurance Law Committee’s scope encompasses insurance law in the broadest sense, including all lines of coverage and types of relationships among insureds, insurers, reinsurers, producers and other constituencies, and all laws and policies affecting the capacity and delivery of insurance coverage in the marketplace, consumer protection and insurer organization and solvency. The Committee additionally provides a regular forum for current insurance law topics, often hosting prominent speakers and receiving reports from specific areas of practice represented by our members. In addition, they proudly serve the bar and the larger community by commenting on legislation and regulation, collaborating with other committees from time to time on projects of mutual concern, advising the Association on insurance law issues and supporting public service activities.
